In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the Executive Director of the North East Development Commission, NEDC, Malam Musa Umar Yashi, has again shown kindness and responsibility through a well-organized Ramadan outreach programme across Bauchi State.
At a time when many families are facing economic hardship, the intervention brought relief and renewed hope to hundreds of families.
It reached 200 community representatives from different local government areas in the state. These representatives helped ensure that the items were shared fairly and reached the right people.
The outreach included the distribution of hundreds of bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, bags of sugar, cartons of vegetable oil, other household items and women’s wrappers. These supplies helped families prepare meals for Iftar and Suhoor and get ready for Sallah celebrations.
More importantly, the support showed care, unity and shared responsibility during a sacred month known for sacrifice and generosity.
The assistance was mainly given to widows, vulnerable families, unemployed youths, the elderly and Persons with Disabilities to ease their financial burden.
The distribution was carried out openly and in an organized way through support groups such as the Northern Coalition Support Group for Tinubu/Kashim and the Remi Tinubu Support Organisation, led by Hon. Yazid Inuwa M.K. and Hajiya Aisha Usman Wanka.
Beneficiaries were properly identified and the process was orderly and transparent.
This humanitarian intervention aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and shows how private individuals can support government efforts to improve people’s lives.
Beyond giving out food and supplies, the programme helped reduce pressure on struggling families and strengthened unity in communities. It also proved that leadership is not only about holding public office but about serving people consistently.
In serving humanity during this holy month, Malam Musa Umar Yashi has once again demonstrated that true leadership is measured not by rhetoric, but by consistency, compassion and visible results. His Ramadan outreach stands not only as an act of charity, but as a model of organized, accountable and people-focused intervention, one that nourishes bodies, uplifts spirits and strengthens hope across Bauchi State.Mal Gambo Hamza via gambohamz@gmail.com
