The Nasarawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Aliyu Bello, has commended a pro-Wadada support group for its peaceful conduct and organized approach, as agitation grows within the party over the choice of its candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
Bello gave the commendation while receiving members of Wadada Youth Ambassadors, who staged a solidarity rally in Lafia ahead of the party’s primary election.
The group, led by Zaidu Aliyu Tanko, declared that the 2027 gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State would be a walkover for the APC if Ahmed Aliyu Wadada is presented as the party’s candidate.
They submitted a copy of the HEART Agenda, described as Wadada’s strategic blueprint for the state, to the party’s State Working Committee, urging leaders to consider him as the most qualified aspirant.
According to the group, Wadada possesses the experience and vision required to consolidate on the achievements of the current administration and move the state forward.
Responding, Bello appreciated the group’s demonstration of unity and urged members to remain law-abiding and committed to the ideals of the party.
Following their engagement with the party leadership, the group proceeded to the Government House in Lafia, where they were received by a Permanent Secretary on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
In his remarks, Tanko praised the leadership of Governor Sule, citing what he described as developmental strides and lasting legacies across the state.
He appealed to the governor to support Wadada as a worthy successor, insisting that he remains the best-positioned candidate to sustain and advance ongoing progress in Nasarawa State.
The rally ended peacefully, with participants expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in 2027 and reaffirming their commitment to unity, progress, and responsible political engagement.
