Families of prominent Nasarawa figures, Alhaji Musa Liman Kwande (Baraden Lafia) and Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata (Jarimin Lafia and Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs), have announced plans for a grand celebration to honour their children following their graduation from the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State.
The event, described as a “Decoration Ceremony,” will celebrate the achievements of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yusuf Liman Kwande and ASP Aminu Muazu Muazu, who recently completed their training and earned their ranks.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ta’al Conference Hotel in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The occasion is expected to attract high-profile dignitaries from across the state and beyond. The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi A. Sule, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
Renowned academic Akaro Mainoma (Gardin Lafia) is slated to deliver the guest lecture, while the Executive Chairman of Lafia Local Government Council, Muhammad Haliru Arabo, will host the event.
Also expected at the ceremony is the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Shetima Jauro Muhammed, who will attend as a Guest of Honour.
The Royal Father of the Day will be Sidi Muhammed Bage, the Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs. Other traditional rulers expected include Ahmed Aliyu Ogah and Mahmmud Umar Bualla.
The Mother of the Day is Hajia Salifat Abdullahi Sule, First Lady of Nasarawa State.
The ceremony underscores the importance of celebrating academic excellence and public service, particularly within the Nigeria Police Force, as the newly commissioned officers embark on their professional careers.
