A high-level meeting was held at Presidential villa Abuja on Friday between Governor Abdullahi Sule, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sources familiar with the visit said the meeting was partly aimed at formally presenting Senator Ahmed Wadada to the president as Governor Sule’s preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State.
The closed-door meeting, which lasted for over an hour, was described by insiders as strategic, coming amid early permutations ahead of the next election. Although official details were not disclosed, it is understood that discussions centered on political continuity, party unity, and the future leadership direction of the state.
Governor Sule, who is serving his second term, is expected to play a key role in shaping the succession landscape within the ruling party. By presenting Wadada to the president, analysts believe the governor is signaling his intention to consolidate support at the highest level of government.
Wadada, a serving senator and experienced politician, has been a prominent figure in Nasarawa politics. His potential candidacy is already generating interest among party stakeholders and grassroots supporters alike.
Neither the Presidency nor the Nasarawa State Government has issued an official statement regarding the purpose of the visit as of press time. However, political observers say such consultations are not unusual, especially as influential actors begin to position themselves ahead of 2027.
The development is expected to intensify political alignments within the state, with other aspirants likely to submit to the decision of Governor Sule on Senator Wadada.
