SDP Nasarawa Chapter Confirms Wadada’s Exit from Party Last August

By Our Reporter

The Social Democratic Party (SDP), Nasarawa State chapter has officially confirmed that Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has left the party since August last year putting to rest lingering speculation about his membership status.
Addressing journalists in Lafia, the State Chairman of the SDP Hon. Mohammed Danlami Musa, dismissed claims that Wadada remained in the SDP until last week as “false, baseless, and misleading.” He clarified that the senator formally resigned from the SDP on August 19, 2025, after notifying party leaders of his decision to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Musa, Wadada’s exit followed due process, beginning at the ward level before being communicated through the appropriate channels to the state leadership for final endorsement.
Despite his departure, the chairman acknowledged Wadada’s contributions to the party, noting that his time in the SDP helped strengthen its growth and stability across Nasarawa State. He added that months after his resignation, the former member demonstrated goodwill by donating vehicles to five local government areas within his senatorial district as a gesture of appreciation.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Wadada has since exited the SDP, and those spreading contrary information lack any credible proof,” Musa stated.
The party also used the occasion to commend the Nasarawa State government for what it described as notable achievements in infrastructure and governance. It further reaffirmed its loyalty to the national leadership of the SDP, urging members to remain united and committed to the party’s progress.
