The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has raised concerns over an alleged plan by certain governorship aspirants to disrupt the party’s internal processes ahead of its upcoming primaries.
In a press release dated May 4, 2026, and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Augustine Ogaba, the party said it had received credible intelligence pointing to efforts aimed at creating tension and spreading misinformation within its ranks.
According to the statement, the alleged plot involves mobilizing individuals and groups to stage a protest during the submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms by Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Abuja.
The party further claimed that those behind the plan may be linked to one of the aspirants who had previously been associated with disruptions of party activities. It cited past incidents involving breaches of peace and destruction of property at the party secretariat, warning that such actions could create a false impression of disunity within the Nasarawa APC.
Describing the alleged conduct as “mischievous,” the party emphasized that it would not tolerate actions capable of inciting unrest or undermining its unity. It reiterated its commitment to a transparent, fair, and credible primary election process.
The APC also called on its members, supporters, and the general public to remain vigilant and disregard any misinformation. It urged security agencies to monitor the situation closely and ensure that anyone attempting to interfere with the process is held accountable.
