The outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in Nasarawa State, has produced what many party faithful and political observers describe as a formidable winning team ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
In the keenly contested Nasarawa South Senatorial District primary, Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba emerged victorious with 48,452 votes, defeating his closest rival, the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Emmanuel Akabe, who secured 32,881 votes. Nalaraba’s victory reflects the confidence reposed in him by party delegates and underscores his growing political influence across the Senatorial district.
Equally significant was the governorship primary, where Ahmed Aliyu Wadada recorded a resounding victory with 195,285 votes, defeating former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, who polled 39,675 votes. The overwhelming mandate received by Wadada demonstrates the broad-based support he enjoys within the APC and among stakeholders across the state.
The emergence of Nalaraba and Wadada has energized the party and strengthened expectations of electoral success in the coming polls. Beyond their individual political strengths, the duo shares a history of productive collaboration dating back to their service in the National Assembly. During their time as federal legislators, they worked closely on initiatives aimed at advancing the interests of Nasarawa State, advocating for development projects and promoting policies designed to improve the welfare of their constituents.
Their longstanding relationship, mutual understanding, and shared vision for the development of Nasarawa State are widely regarded as key assets that will enhance coordination and effective representation if elected.
Supporters believe that their combined experience in governance and legislative affairs, positions them to deliver impactful leadership and attract greater opportunities for the state’s growth.
With the APC primaries now concluded, attention is gradually shifting toward the general elections.
For many within the party, the emergence of Ahmed Wadada as the governorship candidate and Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba as the Senatorial flag bearer, represents a strategic alignment of experienced leaders capable of consolidating development efforts and securing victory for the APC.
As campaigns gather momentum, the Wadada-Nalaraba combination is expected to project a united front built on experience, performance and a shared commitment to the progress and prosperity of Nasarawa State.
Their successful partnership in the past, provides a strong foundation for what supporters hope will translate into electoral success and effective leadership in the future.
