Wadada Calls for Unity, Patience Among APC Aspirants Who Lost Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Nasarawa state, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, has urged all aspirants who contested various positions in the party’s just-concluded primaries to remain patient, united, and loyal to the party.
Senator Wadada made the appeal while hosting the aspirants at a meeting held at De-Crown Hotel in Lafia on Friday. He assured them that their sacrifices and commitment to the party would not go unrewarded.
He explained that the gathering was convened primarily to congratulate all those who participated in the primaries, regardless of the outcome.
According to him, losing an election does not amount to losing one’s political relevance. He noted that those who remain connected to the people despite electoral defeat will ultimately be rewarded, while those who withdraw from public engagement after losing are the ones who truly lose politically.
While encouraging the aspirants to remain steadfast, Senator Wadada reminded them that perseverance is essential in politics, stressing that setbacks should not discourage them from continuing to serve the people. He noted that he had, at different times, experienced the disappointment of electoral defeat, adding that remaining connected with the people after losing an election would eventually bring greater rewards.
He also condemned all forms of ethnic and religious politics, saying that at a time when the world is advancing technologically and exploring space, it is unfortunate that some people still promote divisive politics based on ethnicity and religion.
Wadada observed that technology has transformed politics, making it increasingly digital. He commended all the aspirants for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the primary process and assured them that he would continue to engage those who lost the primaries, as well as other relevant stakeholders, emphasizing that every stakeholder remains important in the party’s journey.
He further urged all APC members to remain united and committed to securing victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections.
Earlier, the APC Chairman in Nasarawa State, Dr. Aliyu Bello, described Senator Wadada as a valuable asset whose leadership qualities have earned him recognition from prominent personalities across the country.
He called for restraint in the conduct of politics in Lafia, urging politicians and their supporters to avoid actions capable of creating unnecessary divisions.
Dr. Bello also encouraged the people of Lafia to emulate Wadada’s style of politics, which he said promotes unity, peace, and equal opportunities for all.
Also speaking, Dr. Joseph Kigbu described the primary election as a win-win situation for everyone, noting that Senator Wadada has consistently rewarded loyalty and hard work.
He appealed to all aspirants to remain in the APC and work together to strengthen the party ahead of the general elections.
Also Speaking  aspirants, Mrs. Felicia E. Samuel, popularly known as “Iron lady” who contested for the Lafia North State Constituency seat in the House of Assembly, described Wadada as a detribalized leader who does not discriminate on the basis of religion or ethnicity. She expressed confidence that he would run an inclusive government if elected.
The meeting also featured a pledge by the unsuccessful aspirants to close ranks and work with Senator Wadada in the interest of the APC.
The aspirants assured the party leadership of their continued loyalty and promised to mobilize support across their constituencies, including embarking on house-to-house campaigns, particularly among women, to canvass votes for Wadada in the forthcoming election.
They emphasized that their collective commitment was to “move the mountain together” by ensuring the APC records overwhelming success at the polls.

In his vote of thanks, senatorial aspirant Mohammed Ari (DIG, rtd.) commended Senator Wadada for convening the meeting, describing it as a timely initiative that gave all aspirants a greater sense of belonging within the party.
He also called for measures to ease the financial burden borne by aspirants during the party’s primary election, noting that many had invested substantial resources in their campaigns.
