Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Nasarawa State, has said leadership is not about speaking to the people alone but about listening to them, understanding their concerns and building a shared vision for the future.
Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made the statement on Friday while engaging pastors and leaders of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) at the ERCC Zion Gate in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
The senator said the engagement provided an opportunity for him to present his legislative scorecard and share his development blueprint for the state, known as the HEARTS Agenda.
According to him, if elected governor in 2027, he would run a government that is listening, accessible and focused on delivering tangible development to the people.
He explained that the HEARTS Agenda is designed to build a prosperous, inclusive and sustainably developed Nasarawa State, with emphasis on creating economic opportunities, improving education and healthcare, empowering youths and women, harnessing the state’s agricultural and mineral resources, and developing critical infrastructure.
Wadada expressed appreciation to the President of the ERCC, Very Rev. Dave Denji, for the warm reception and counsel during the engagement.
He said Rev. Denji’s advocacy for an open-door administration was consistent with the kind of government he intends to establish if given the mandate to lead the state.
The APC candidate also called for unity among the people of Nasarawa State, stressing that the task of building a united and prosperous state should transcend religious, ethnic and political differences.
He urged citizens to work together in the common interest of the state, regardless of their faith, ethnicity or political affiliation.
The engagement was attended by several political associates and supporters, including Hon. Emmanuel Michael Ombugadu, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, Barr. Isaac Danladi, Hon. Tony Bala Shammah and Dr. Haruna Kigbu, among others.
