Wadada Emphasises Religious Tolerance, Peaceful Coexistence at Meeting with Christian Leaders in Karu

Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, has emphasised the importance of religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding among residents as essential ingredients for the state’s unity and development.

Wadada made the remarks during an engagement with leaders of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) in Karu Local Government Area of the state.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the governorship candidate to interact with Christian leaders on issues affecting their communities, while sharing his vision for the progress and development of Nasarawa State.

He stressed the need to promote an atmosphere where people of different religious beliefs could live together peacefully, respect one another’s convictions and contribute collectively to the development of the state.

According to him, religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence remain important to sustaining unity, strengthening social harmony and creating an environment conducive to development across Nasarawa State.

During the interactive session, Wadada presented his scorecard and outlined his plans for the state under his HEARTS Agenda, which focuses on human capital development; energy and mineral resources; agriculture and the green economy; rural and urban development; trade, investment and industry; and security.

He explained that the agenda reflects his development priorities and commitment to addressing critical challenges confronting the state, while improving the well-being of its people.

The APC candidate also listened to concerns and contributions from the church leaders, particularly on development and issues affecting the welfare of residents.

The engagement, he noted, offered an opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen dialogue between political leadership and religious institutions, which play important roles in promoting peace, unity and community development.

Wadada was accompanied by his running mate, Chief Michael Emmanuel Ombugadu; Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu; Hon. Emmanuel Bako; the Deputy Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, Hon. Ibrahim Bulus; and Hon. Koro Auta.

He expressed appreciation to the delegation for their support and acknowledged the importance of continued engagement with religious leaders and other stakeholders in building a peaceful and inclusive Nasarawa State.
