Supporters of Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu have commenced the replacement of a damaged billboard at the head office of the Wadada Like Minds movement along Makurdi Road, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The replacement exercise follows the alleged destruction of the billboard by supporters of former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, some time ago.
According to accounts from Wadada’s supporters, the incident occurred when alleged supporters of the former IGP stormed a gathering of the senator’s supporters while they were holding a meeting within the premises of the office.
The alleged attack reportedly resulted in the destruction of property, including the billboard, while some members of the group sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Reacting to the development, supporters of Senator Wadada have called on relevant security agencies to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against those responsible.
They stressed the need for security agencies to address acts of political aggression and ensure the safety of citizens, regardless of their political affiliations.
The supporters also urged political actors and their followers to embrace peaceful engagement and respect the rights of others to associate and express their political interests without intimidation or violence.
