The State Honourable Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism Hon. Jameel Zakari, has described the allegations of the State PDP Chairman Mr. Francis Orogu as baseless and unfounded.

The Commissioner said this yesterday at a Press Conference he addressed in his office, in response to the State’s PDP Chairman’s recent Press Conference, where he accused the state government of planning to rig elections in Nasarawa state.

According to the Information Commissioner, the allegations of the State’s PDP Chairman of the State Government using the Command Center to rig and manipulate elections were lies and baseless, saying that the rationale behind the creation of the Center is for the dissemination of information about the programs and policies of the State Government to its citizens, and never for once the Center was used for purposes which it is not meant for.

Hon. Jameel Zakari went further and debunked the State PDP’s Chairman allegation of igniting communal crisis by the State Government in the State to stop some ethnic groups from partaking in the forthcoming general election, saying that such allegations were also baseless, without substance. Alhaji Jamil explained that both the Federal and the State governments have no hand in all what the PDP are saying, adding that both the state and the federal government did their best by bringing the crisis to an end. He also stressed all the victims of the crisis were properly taken care of and have since returned to their various homes.

The Honourable Commissioner then advised the PDP Chairman to always cross checked his facts before addressing the press, stressing that the speeches of the State PDP Chairman had clearly indicated a serious campaign of calumny and propaganda targeted at governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura and his government just to regain the PDP’s lost relevance in the State.

He said, Mr Orogu is a renowned ethnic jingoist who specializes in fanning the embers of ethnic and religious sentiment to gain political power.

Jameel added that in every free and fair contest, there is not way the PDP can return to power in the state because the citizens of the State are happy and appreciative of the APC led administrations at all levels, and are ready to vote for the party in the forthcoming elections.
