Outgoing Governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura had paid a glowing tribute to late Emir Of Lafia, Dr Isa Mustapha for his efforts in elevating Lafia emirate council to an enviable height. Speaking at the official presentation of staff of office to Justice Sidi Bage as the 17th Emir Of Lafia, in Lafia the outgoing governor described the late Emir as most respected and dignified leader.
Al-makura stressed that it has become pertinent to pay special tribute to the late Emir reputed to
be an exemplary monarch per excellence whose during his reign the ancient
town of Lafia witnessed unprecedented and monumental growth and
development. . He further emphasized ‘It was also during his reign that Lafia became the
capital city of Nasarawa State. The high-esteem and the enviable
status of Lafia in the comity of emirates and chiefdoms in the country
is largely attributable to the towering personality and cherished
virtues of His Royal Highness, the late Emir of Lafia’ The outgoing governor also maintained that the peaceful
and harmonious co-existence that existed between and amongst different
ethnic nationalities within and outside the emirate was largely due to
his style of leadership. ‘May Allah (SWT) in His infinite mercy rest
the soul of His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr.) Isa Mustapha Agwai I,
Jannatil Firdaus’ Al-makura further added.
On the emergence of Justice Sidi Bage as the 17th Emir of Lafia, the outgoing governor described the emergence as an act of God.
