Gov. Sule Felicitates With Muslim Ummah On Eid el fitr

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has enjoined all Muslims to remain steadfast in applying the virtues of Ramadan through Sustained supplication, hospitality and good neighborliness. In a message to Muslim ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid el fitr, Governor Sule said for the past thirty (30) days, Muslims the world over have observed

the fasting in the sacred month of Ramadan in compliance with the
Islamic injunction, noting that fasting in the month of
Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam aimed at strengthening our
faith through spiritual engagements such as abstinence from eating,
drinking and satisfying other desires from dawn to sunset. Governor Sule who stressed that fasting
involves intense prayers, recitation and interpretation of the Holy
Qur’an, as well as increased acts of kindness, charity and humility,
among other moral virtues, however maintained: “As we come to the end of this year’s Ramadan fasting, therefore, I,
on behalf of the Government and People of Nasarawa State, felicitate
with all Muslim faithful in the State as we join millions of Nigerians
and other brethren across the globe to mark the 2019Eid-el-Fitr
(Sallah) celebration. Governor Sule pointed out that the spirit of sharing in our
daily activities should be sacrosanct and appealed to the good citizens of Nasarawa
State to continue to pray for the peace, security and economic
prosperity of the State.

While reiterating his call to the people to be law abiding and live
peacefully with one another, governor Sule said government will not condone any acts
capable of breaching the existing peace prevailing in our society and
will deal decisively with any individual(s) and groups whose stock in
trade is to perpetuate crime, criminality and fan embers of disunity
among the diverse ethnic nationalities in the State. ‘Let us all put
hands together individually and collectively to contribute our parts
towards the sustenance of peace and security in our dear State’ Gov Sule maintained. He continued: ‘As we celebrate this Sallah, I urge us all to re-affirm our
obedience to Allah’s injunctions as contained in the noble Qur’an and
follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
While saying that ‘It is an obligation on us to pray for our leaders at all levels
to govern with the fear of God and the virtues of justice, humility
and service for the good of humanity, the governor said at season of celebrations it becomes incumbent for us to exercised
greater vigilance to ensure a safe neighbourhood for harmonious
co-existence. Governor Sule thanked the
people of Nasarawa State for their support and prayer towards the
successful inauguration of his Administration. . ‘As we begin a new
task to enhance the socio-economic fortunes of our people, I appeal for
your support and cooperation in our determination to take our dear
State to the Next Level’ Gov Sule further stressed.

He then called on motorists and
other road users to obey traffic regulations and also Appealed on the
Federal Road Safety Corps and other security agencies to continue to
be vigilant during this festive period and also intensify efforts in
controlling traffic to safeguard lives and property of the citizens.
