Keep The Flag Flying, Gov Sule Urges Eggon News Newspaper

Governor Abdullah Sule of Nasarawa State has felicitated with EGGON NEWS as it attains the milestone of 20 years of community journalism which has for two decades given insight to details of national and community life through Eggon perspective.
Governor Sule who stated this at an occasion Organized to mark 20 years anniversary of Eggon News Newspaper in Lafia, further stated “I wish to state for the records that Nasarawa State is proud of EGGON NEWS for being one of the earliest institutions of credible journalism”
“I personally salute the locally-oriented approach of EGGON NEWS which through the years, the newspaper has encouraged the rise of other community papers and newsletters in Nasarawa State” he further observed.
Governor Sule who was represented by the state Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe also stressed that the style of journalism which EGGON NEWS adopts brings is awesome and brings to the public professional news coverage that typically focuses on our rural districts, villages and small towns, therefore ensuring that even the poorest voice of our people is heard loud and clear from the most distant village.
He said “EGGON NEWS has for twenty years reflected the Eggon community, protected its cultural legacies and told its stories; while embracing and inspiring a leadership role for the Eggon people in state and national affairs”. While expressing the belief that from its professional and insightful reportage, EGGON NEWS has helped to inspire Eggon people to be the best they can be and contribute positively to the development of Nasarawa State, Governor Sule further said Eggon News has set a standard for the archiving cultural memory for generations unborn and donated N3million to the paper in appreciation of the inspiring role in the society and to sustain the good works and exemplary professional legacy of Eggon News.
