Tribute To Late Alhaji Aliyu Liman Adeka

BY ALIYU BELLO. Inna Lillahi wa inna Ilaihi Rajiun! Allahu Akbar!! Allahu Akbar!!! I’m really saddened and devastated to receive the news of the demise of my maternal uncle Alhaji Aliyu Liman Adeka (Madaki Adogi ) A teacher, Administrator, farmer and a reputable traditional title holder in the ancient city of Adogi in lafia LGA of Nasarawa State.
I first came in contact with Mallam Aliyu Liman in 1977 when I was admitted into form 1 in Mangu Government Secondary in the then plateau state. He (late Adeka)was then officer in-charge of plateau marketing Board, trade center Bukuru. My mother Hajiya Maryam Bello, the Daughter of late chief Imam of Adogi told me that she has a junior brother by name Mallam Liman in-charge of Marketing Board at trade center and instructed me to see him and introduce myself as her son. When I finally oblige and visited him, I was stunned my the hospitality I got from him, he received me like his biological son and treated me as one since then. In fact I can say without fair of contradiction that Mallam Liman’s counseling and mentoring was what really encouraged me to stay in Mangu Secondary school at that particular time and that I must confess that has really serves as turning point in my life. This is a man that is willing to assist others even when he has nothing to offer to the said needy. He viewed People’s problems as his personal problem, just as he turned his brothers and their children as friends and Associates. We have learned and gained a lot by his counseling, guidance and above all mentoring.
No doubt, the the demise of this uncommon traditional title holder, unassuming Teacher, a large scale farmer and perfect historiography, our generation and generation yet unborn will greatly miss this fountain of knowledge and encyclopedia of of over 8 decades.
We love you very much but Allah (swt) loves you more and we take solace in the will of Almighty.
May Allah (swt) forgive Mallam Liman’s shortcomings , grant him Al-Jannatul Firdausi and give his relatives and entire members of his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
My special Condolences to the Emir of Adogi, Adogi Emirate council and the entire people of Adogi.
