Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Public Complaint, Petition and Security has given Six weeks grace to the Governing council and Management of College of Agriculture, Science and Technology Lafia to revisit and reconsider the demands of some of its engaged staff who were demoted in the interest of unity and industrial harmony in the institutions.
Chairman of the committee Hon. Danladi Jatau made the appeal when the management, Governing Council and the Demoted Staff appeared before the committee to defend a petition written by the affected staff.
Jatau, the minority leader said the appeal has become necessary considering their experience and period of service they have put in place and to also ensure that peace reign in the institution.
In a partition titled “Demotion of Absorbed staff of Defunct College of Agric Nursery and primary School Lafia” the leader of the affected staff mark Iyimoga lamented that some of the college staff on grade level 14 and 13 were demoted to level 9 and 7 without considering their additional qualifications and years of service.
Acting Chairman of the Governing Board Dalhatu Manman And the Provost Ahmed Maikeffi centered the decision on recommendations of the screening committee of the institution and appealed to the house to give them between now and second week of December to revisit the matter.
