Nasarawa 2021 Appropriation Bill Scales Second Reading
By Abdullahi Anas. Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed 2021 Appropriation Bill for second reading.
Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House announced the passage of the bill after Hon Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of the House presented the bill for second hearing during the House proceedings in Lafia today.
The speaker appreciated the governor for fulfilling one of his constitutional responsibilities as enshrine in Section 121 (1) of the 1999 constitution. Noting that the appropriation bill when passed into law will authorized issued out from the consolidated revenue of the state to fund public services.
In his words. “The budget is the life of the state and the life of our people. assuring the state government and people of Nasarawa State of speedy passage of the budget for the overall development of the state.
Other Members who spoke in the chamber expressed their satisfaction for the bill to see the light of the day.
The speaker committed the bill to the House Committee on finance and appropriation to work on it and report back to the House on December 14th, 2020.
