We Sacrifice Our Weekends Just To Do Justice To Gov Sule’s 2021 Budget Estimate- NSHA Lawmakers
Usually Mondays to Fridays are working days while Saturdays and Sundays remain weekend where public servants are expected to rest after the Five working days.
Surprisingly,members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly were seen in the office at about Four(4)PM on Sunday the 13th of December 2020.
On going closer with their inquisitive,the pen men saw the lawmakers attending to the 2021 budget proposal recently presented to the house by Gov.Abdullahi Sule.
When asked by newsmen on why the lawmakers are in the office at the weekend especially Sunday,Hon Aliyu Dogara Chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation said they have decided to sacrificed their weekend Saturday and Sunday to do justice to the 2021 budget proposal of Gov.Abdullahi Sule which is before the House as part of their support to the Governor to succeed and their commitment to the general wellbeing of the people of the state by ensuring its quick passage.
“Yes don’t be surprise that you see us here this Sunday afternoon,yesterday Saturday,we were also here we converged around Eighth(8)in the morning and left late evening ,today Sunday we are doing same,the reason been that we have all agreed to give the Governor all the necessary support to succeed, it is therefore behooves on us to ensure quick and timely passage of the appropriation bill to prepare ground for the Governor to fully implement it,” He said.
“Mr Speaker Rt.Hon.Balarabe Abdullahi has gave us mandate on this budget,with strict specifications and time limit,as you will recalled that in the last two weeks we have been busy engaging MDAs on budget defence and after that we are now doing the finishing touches by looking at the budget holistically based on MDAs presentations.” Hon Aliyu Dogara added.
