Christmas: Speaker Balarabe Felicitates With Christians, Calls For Prayers
As Christians in Nasarawa State join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate this year’s Christmas billed for Friday, December 25th,2020.Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi,has called on believers to use the period to pray for peace, unity and progress of the state and the country at large for God’s intervention in order to tackle insecurity and other emerging challenges.
A statement by Press Secretary to the speaker, Jibrin Gwamna felicitate with the Christian communities in the state and beyond on the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The statement quotes the speaker Balarabe Abdullahi as describing Christmas as a significant and remarkable day in the Christendom, hence the need for believers to emulate the peaceful disposition of the celebrant by championing the course of peace, unity and progress of their various communities.
Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi observed that Nigeria like every other nations have its success stories and painful challenges while urging all to intensify prayers for the progress and development of the country.
The Nasarawa State Number Three citizen while wishing all Christian communities in the state a blissful celebration called on well to do individuals in the society to support the less privileged ones among them to give them a sense of belonging.
He advised Christians to celebrate peacefully while expressing hope that the new year 2021 will be far better than previous years.
Balarabe Abdullahi called on Christians and other Nigerians to pray and support President Muhammadu Buhari, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders to succeed.
The speaker equally called on citizens to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, live in peace and tolerate one another for development to thrive.
