NSSG Felicitates With Christians, Urges Faithful To Abide By Teachings Of Jesus Christ

Nasarawa State Acting Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, has felicitated with Christians in the state, as well as in the Diaspora, on the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, urging faithful to imbibe the spirit and teaching of the festival by showing love and sharing of gifts.

The Nasarawa Acting Governor made the call in a goodwill message marking this year’s Christmas, issued to journalists in Lafia, on Thursday.

According to Dr. Akabe, the birth of Jesus Christ symbolizes love, peace, humility and human dignity, stressing that Christ embodies self-sacrifice, good neighbourliness, charity and reconciliation among human kind.

The Acting Governor used the opportunity of the festive season, to remind all Christians on the significance of using the sacred period to continue to pray for the sustenance of peace and prosperity of the nation, especially at such trying moment when the economy of country is in recession, following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

He equally emphasized the need to strictly adhere to COVID-19 protocol, adding that this has become necessary as a result of the fact that the world is presently experiencing the second wave of the pandemic.

Dr. Akabe further stressed that both the government and people, must endeavour to evolve measures in the fight against the pandemic by controlling and containing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

While also calling on road users to be cautious and considerate, by obeying traffic regulations, in order to ensure safety on the roads, during and after the festivities, the Acting Governor added that government has made adequate arrangement to ensure security of lives and property during and after the festivities.

He urged all and sundry to continue to support the efforts of the administration, in its determination to improve the living conditions of the people.
