Nasarawa state government has once more reassured residents of an hygienic environment and proper drainage system, as part of dividends of democracy promised by Gov. Abdullahi Sule led administration.
Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Hon. Kwanta Yakubu made this known, Saturday(14/08/2022), while clearing-out a refuse dump which has been detrimental to the health and wellbeing of residents in Angwan Afi, Akwanga, Akwanga LGA , after some many calls on Option Radio Arise Naija early morning programme.
Hon. Kwanta said it became necessary for the Waste Management Bureau, under his ministry to clear the dump after so many calls, thereby advising the host community to desist from dumping refuse there or face the law.
For the owner of the uncompleted structure, Hon. Kwanta said if its not taken care and the refuse return , the state government would be force to act according to law because a notice would be served to the family as warning.
On their parts Maiangwan of Angwan Afi and the Youth leader Emmanuel Obi and Jane Musa Ewuga, both appreciated the effort of the commissioner for helping clear the dump which was on the access road and for protecting their health.
Meanwhile, the Environment and Natural Resources commissioner took the opportunity to inspect the proposed drainage system at Angwan Maidoki which would soon have a face lift owing to an intervention from the world bank through the Nasarawa state government.
Hon. Kwanta further, called on the host community to keep on supporting the administration of Engr. Abdullahi Sule for more dividends of democracy.
