Sule Anoints Wadada as APC Flagbearer, Rallies Support for Tinubu’s Second Term

Governor Abdullahi Sule has officially declared Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu  as the preferred governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 election.
The announcement was made during an emergency meeting with political appointees held at the Conference Hall of the Government House in Lafia. According to the governor, the decision followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders both within and outside the state.
Governor Sule emphasized that the endorsement of Senator Wadada reflects a collective agreement reached after what he described as “due and diligent consultations” aimed at strengthening the party’s chances in the upcoming election.
In a notable remark, the governor stated the decision to arrive at Senator Wadada was as a result of  strong confidence in his candidacy and leadership capacity.
He further called on members of the APC and the general public to rally behind the party’s leadership, urging unified support not only for the governorship ambition of Wadada but also for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.
The declaration is expected to shape political alignments within the state as preparations for the 2026 general elections gather momentum.
