Umar Danyaya Purchases Governorship Nomination Form for Elder Brother, Senator Wadada

By Our Reporter

Umar Danyaya Aliyu has purchased the nomination form for the governorship bid of his elder brother, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a major step forward in the race for the party’s ticket.
The development comes just days after Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, endorsed Senator Wadada as his preferred successor ahead of the upcoming governorship election.
Senator Wadada’s candidacy is gaining momentum within party ranks, as no fewer than six aspirants have stepped down from the race in his favour.  Insiders say the withdrawals reflect a growing consensus among key stakeholders to rally behind a single candidate.
In a further show of support, thousands of APC stakeholders across the state have pledged their commitment to work vigorously for Wadada’s success, both at the party primaries and in the general election.
Observers note that the consolidation of support around Wadada could position him as a frontrunner in the contest, though the party’s primary election will ultimately determine its flagbearer.
The APC has yet to release an official statement on the latest development, but political analysts say the unfolding events point to an increasingly coordinated effort within the party to ensure a smooth succession process.
