Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa North Senatorial Zone have declared their support for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as their preferred candidate for the governorship, endorsing him as the successor to Governor Abdullahi A. Sule.
The endorsement was announced during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Akwanga Youth Center, where party executives, elected officials, and appointees from Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba Local Government Areas converged to deliberate on the political future of the zone.
The meeting, convened under the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, also reaffirmed support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signaling strong party unity ahead of upcoming political contests.
Governor Sule, who stopped over at the venue on his way back from Abuja, addressed the gathering and commended stakeholders for their commitment to the party’s vision and cohesion across the senatorial district.
A major highlight of the meeting was the formal unveiling of members of the campaign council for Governor Sule’s senatorial ambition. The council, structured from the local government down to ward levels, is expected to drive grassroots mobilization ahead of its official inauguration scheduled for Saturday.
The campaign council will be chaired by Senator Philip Aruwa Gyunka, who is tasked with coordinating efforts to ensure the success of the governor’s senatorial bid.
Political observers note that the dual endorsements—of Wadada for governor and Tinubu for president—reflect a strategic alignment within the APC in Nasarawa State, aimed at consolidating political strength and ensuring continuity in governance.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge by stakeholders to work collectively toward the success of the party in future elections.
