Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, a gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, has formally presented his nomination and expression of interest forms to former governor Abdullahi Adamu, as preparations intensify ahead of the party’s 2027 primaries.
Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West in the Senate, visited Adamu—who holds the traditional title of Turakin Keffi—at his residence in Keffi shortly after the Jumaat prayer. During the visit, the senator presented his forms and sought what he described as fatherly blessings from the elder statesman.
The move is seen as a strategic step in consolidating support within key political circles in the state, particularly among party elders and influential stakeholders.
Wadada had declared his intention to contest the Nasarawa governorship months earlier. His ambition gained further momentum following his recent endorsement by Governor Abdullahi Sule, who named him as his preferred successor.
Political observers note that the endorsement, combined with Wadada’s outreach to party leaders like Adamu, positions him as a strong contender in the lead-up to the APC primaries.
