The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has intensified consultations with party stakeholders and grassroots supporters ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency seat.
Jatau, who currently represents Kokona West Constituency in the state assembly, is seeking election into the House of Representatives in 2027 on the platform of the APC.
As part of his consultations across the constituency, the Speaker met with APC zonal officials, party leaders, traditional rulers and stakeholders in Keffi and Karu local government areas, where he canvassed support for his aspiration.
Speaking during an interaction with Nasarawa West APC zonal officials in Keffi on Wednesday, Jatau assured the people of inclusive leadership and more democratic dividends if elected into the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
He said his track record as Speaker and lawmaker remained visible and verifiable, noting that he had contributed significantly to education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, empowerment and employment opportunities for the people.
“My achievements are there, visible and verifiable. By the grace of God, if elected into the Green Chamber, I will lobby for more projects and ensure speedy development across Keffi, Karu and Kokona Federal Constituency,” he said.
The Speaker also pledged to continue promoting unity, peace and people-oriented programmes aimed at improving the welfare of constituents.
During the visit, Jatau reportedly donated over N3 million to various support groups and presented a brand new car to Hajiya Fati Door-to-Door, the APC State Treasurer in Karu Local Government Area.
The Speaker’s engagements also took him to Karu, where APC leaders reportedly endorsed his aspiration during a meeting with the party leadership in the area. He also paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, Hon. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, as well as the Village Head of Aso Pada.
Earlier, the Nasarawa West APC Zonal Chairman, Isaiah Agah, commended Jatau for what he described as his impactful leadership and dedication to the development of the state.
Agah assured the Speaker of the support, loyalty and prayers of party officials ahead of the primary election.
Several stakeholders and supporters who spoke during the meetings described Jatau as a humble, accessible and loyal party leader, expressing confidence in his ability to effectively represent the constituency at the national level.
