Wadada Vows Justice Over Supporter’s Death in Lafia Clash

Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has vowed that those responsible for the death of one of his supporters, Abbas Rabiu, during a clash at a political rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, will be brought to justice.
The senator gave the assurance in a statement issued on Saturday in Lafia following the incident, which occurred during a rally organised in support of his political movement at Tudun Gwandara in Lafia.
“We will ensure that those responsible for this unfortunate act are brought to justice, and the law takes its full course,” Wadada stated.
Abbas Rabiu was said to have lost his life after violence broke out during what the senator described as a peaceful gathering of supporters.
Expressing shock and sadness over the incident, Wadada described the deceased as one of the movement’s committed supporters.
“I received with deep shock and sadness the news of the demise of one of our dedicated supporters, Abbas Rabiu, who lost his life as a result of the unfortunate clash that occurred during a peaceful rally in support of our movement at Tudun Gwandara, Lafia,” the statement read.
The lawmaker extended condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the deceased, praying for Allah’s forgiveness and eternal rest for the late supporter in Jannatul Firdaus.
Wadada also called on his supporters to remain calm and avoid retaliatory actions, stressing the need for peace and lawful conduct.
“I also urge all our supporters to remain calm, shun every form of violence, and continue to promote peace, unity, and lawful engagement at all times,” he added.
The incident has generated concern among residents and political supporters in Lafia, with many calling for a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the clash.
