Senator Wadada Begins LG Tour in Awe, Seeks Support for Sule, Tinubu

Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has commenced the first phase of his local government tour with a visit to Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, where he paid homage to the Sangarin Awe, Alhaji Isa Abubakar Umar II.
The senator was received at the palace by the Emir alongside the Sarkin Tunga, the Chairman of Awe Local Government Area, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) executive in the area.
Speaking during the visit, Senator Wadada described Awe as his “homecoming,” noting that he holds the traditional title of Baraden Awe. He paid glowing tribute to the late Emir of Awe, whom he described as his mentor and the reason behind the honourary title bestowed on him.
Wadada called on the people to continue supporting the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, whom he described as a peaceful and development-oriented leader. He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he termed his efforts in managing the nation’s economy and promoting local government autonomy across the country.
Senator Wadada stressed the importance of respecting traditional institutions, saying he holds royal fathers in high esteem because of the values instilled in him by his late father.
“I am growing in life, but my late father warned me never to look down on traditional rulers, and I will continue to respect that admonition,” he said.
The senator also urged his supporters to remain calm and avoid retaliating against critics or political opponents who insult him.
“I am not above insults. Even prophets of Allah were insulted, so who am I?” he stated.
During the visit, Senator Wadada presented his scorecard and highlighted his HEART agenda to the Emir and members of the traditional council.
In his response, the Emir of Awe prayed for divine protection and guidance for the senator and commended him for maintaining close ties with the traditional institution and the people of the area.
