Wadada Accepts APC Governorship Ticket, Pledges to Work Harder for Nasarawa State.

Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has formally accepted his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election, pledging to build on the achievements of the current administration while pursuing a people-centered development agenda.
Speaking during a crowded world press conference in Lafia on Monday, Wadada described his victory in the APC governorship primary as a mandate from party members across the state and vowed to serve with “a deep sense of responsibility, total commitment, sincerity of purpose, and unwavering determination.”
He said the victory belonged not only to him but to all APC members and citizens who believe in a more prosperous, peaceful, and united Nasarawa State.
“This victory is not mine alone. It belongs to every APC member who participated in the democratic process and to every citizen who believes in a more prosperous, peaceful, united, and progressive Nasarawa State,” he stated.
The APC candidate commended the party leadership for conducting what he described as a peaceful, transparent, and credible primary election. He specifically praised the State Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, members of the State Working Committee, and electoral officials for ensuring a free and fair exercise.
According to Wadada, the successful conduct of the primaries demonstrated the strength of the APC’s internal democracy and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to sustainable development and good governance.
He also paid glowing tribute to Governor Abdullahi Sule, describing him as a leader whose political maturity, statesmanship, and commitment to the unity of the APC contributed significantly to the success of the process.
Wadada lauded Sule’s administration for achievements in infrastructure, industrialization, agriculture, healthcare, education, security, and economic development, noting that the governor had laid a solid foundation for the state’s continued growth.
The senator extended an olive branch to fellow aspirants who contested the APC primary and those who stepped down before the election, describing them as distinguished leaders whose participation strengthened the democratic process.
“The contest is over. The time for reconciliation, unity, and collective responsibility is now. There is no victor and no vanquished,” he declared, urging party members to close ranks ahead of the 2027 general election.
As part of his vision for the state, Wadada unveiled the HEARTS Agenda, a developmental blueprint that will guide his administration if elected governor.
He said the policy framework would consolidate existing achievements while creating new opportunities for economic growth, youth empowerment, innovation, rural development, and improved security across the state.
“Our goal is simple: to ensure that every community, every stakeholder, and every citizen feels the positive impact of governance regardless of location, social status, religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation,” he said.
The APC candidate pledged to run an inclusive, transparent, and accountable government that prioritizes the welfare of citizens, strengthens institutions, expands economic opportunities, and empowers women, youths, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
Wadada also aligned his vision with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing support for the Federal Government’s economic reforms and national development efforts.
He praised the President for demonstrating courage in implementing policies aimed at achieving long-term economic stability, attracting investments, strengthening institutions, and promoting national prosperity.
The senator further acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in maintaining peace and unity across Nasarawa State and expressed gratitude to women, youths, persons living with disabilities, religious leaders, community leaders, and party supporters across the state’s 147 wards for their trust and support.
Describing the moment as a defining chapter in the state’s political journey, Wadada called on residents to rise above political, ethnic, and sectional interests in pursuit of a shared future.
“Together, we can build a Nasarawa State that offers greater opportunities for our youth, better healthcare for our families, quality education for our children, stronger security for our communities, and sustainable prosperity for all,” he said.
He then expressing optimism about the future of the state, saying that with unity, faith, and collective determination, “the best days of Nasarawa State are still ahead of us.
The press conference was attended by the aspirants who contested in the primaries, including Hassan Liman, SAN, and Dr. Fatima Abdullahi Adamu, both of whom accepted the outcome of the election. Also present were Dr. Mohammed Musa, Baraden Nasarawa; Architect Shehu Tukur; Dr. Joseph Kigbu; and Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, who was represented by Hon. Abdul-Hamid Kwarra.
These aspirants had earlier withdrawn their ambitions in support of Senator Wadada and in the interest of the party and Nasarawa State.
The conference was, also attended by many prominent personalities from across the state.
