Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu yesterday, Monday, addressed a world press conference during which he publicly delivered his acceptance speech to members of the APC family in particular and the people of Nasarawa State in general. At the well-attended press conference, Wadada seized the opportunity to once again present his core agenda, which he pledged to pursue for the benefit of all citizens, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, if given the mandate to lead the state.
It is pertinent to highlight this agenda in order to refresh the minds of the people about what it entails.
H – Human Capital Development
Investing in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and social inclusion to build a skilled, healthy, and productive population.
E – Energy and Mineral Resources
Expanding access to clean energy, responsibly developing mineral resources, and attracting investments to power industries and communities.
A – Agriculture and Green Economy
Modernizing agriculture, supporting farmers, and promoting climate-smart practices to ensure food security and economic growth.
R – Rural and Urban Development
Improving infrastructure, housing, transportation, and access to basic services to create balanced and inclusive development across all zones of the state.
T – Trade, Investment, and Industry
Driving economic expansion through industrialization, support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), job creation, and a business-friendly environment.
S – Security
Strengthening community safety through modern security systems, collaboration, and proactive peace-building initiatives.
However, the HEARTS Agenda is not just a vision; it is a results-driven governance framework backed by data, accountability, and clear performance targets. It is designed to deliver real improvements in people’s lives, restore trust in leadership, and position Nasarawa State as a model of sustainable development.
Indeed, governance is about continuity, experience, and the ability to build on existing foundations. Wadada’s HEARTS Agenda is designed to build upon the foundations already laid by Governor Abdullahi Sule. In Nasarawa State today, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu embodies the qualities required of a leader. He is the right man to succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule in 2027.
All the noise surrounding the primaries is merely a political distraction. However, we cannot deny those involved the opportunity to express their grievances, which is a normal feature of any democratic process.
Wadada’s acceptance speech was not filled with empty promises or political grandstanding. Instead, it reflected maturity, gratitude, and a clear understanding of the responsibilities that come with leadership. More importantly, it demonstrated that Wadada understands where Nasarawa State is coming from, where it is today, and where it needs to go next.
Governor Abdullahi Sule has spent years laying a solid foundation for the state’s growth. From infrastructure development to industrialization, agriculture, healthcare, education, security, and economic expansion, his administration has transformed many aspects of governance in Nasarawa State. The challenge for whoever succeeds him will not simply be to continue these projects but also to improve upon them and ensure that the gains already achieved are not lost.
This is where Wadada stands out.
Unlike newcomers who may need years to understand the complexities of governance and the unique needs of the state, Wadada already knows the road. Against this background, we must commend Governor Abdullahi Sule for his preference for Wadada as his successor. Nasarawa State cannot afford to lose momentum after the Sule administration. The state needs a leader who understands the progress that has been made, appreciates the challenges that remain, and possesses the experience to bridge both realities.

As the 2027 governorship election approaches, many political observers will continue to assess the strengths of various contenders. However, one fact is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore: Wadada knows the road.
