Wadada Reaffirms Commitment to Education as Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa Celebrates His Legacy

Reaffirming his belief that education remains the foundation of sustainable development, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has pledged to sustain his support for initiatives that broaden access to quality education, strengthen academic institutions, and empower young people across Nasarawa State.
The senator made the commitment while receiving the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, led by its Rector, Dr. Hauwa Tanko Muhammad, during a courtesy visit aimed at expressing appreciation for his unwavering support to the institution.
The visit underscored the growing recognition of Senator Wadada’s contributions to the advancement of tertiary education in the state, particularly his role in promoting policies and interventions that have positively impacted the institution.
Speaking during the visit, the management commended the senator for honoring the institution’s recent Convocation Ceremony, describing his presence as a demonstration of his enduring commitment to the growth of education and human capital development.
The delegation also lauded Senator Wadada for his pivotal role in facilitating the Presidential approval for the upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, to the Federal University of Mining, Engineering and Technology, Nasarawa. They described the landmark achievement as a major milestone that will expand academic opportunities, promote specialized education, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Nasarawa State and the nation at large.
According to the management, the transformation of the institution into a specialised federal university represents a new chapter in its history and positions it to play a strategic role in producing the skilled manpower required for Nigeria’s mining, engineering, and technology sectors.
In his response, Senator Wadada expressed appreciation to the management for the visit and the recognition of his efforts. He reiterated that investment in education remains one of the most effective ways to secure the future of society, stressing that stronger educational institutions are essential for national growth and development.
