
Former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has paid glowing tribute to former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, describing him as a pillar, bridge builder, role model and one of the architects of Nasarawa State’s growth and development.
In a statement personally signed on Thursday and made available to journalists in Lafia, Balarabe congratulated the former governor on reaching the milestone and prayed for God to bless him with sound health, wisdom, long life and more rewarding years of service to humanity.
The former Speaker, who holds the traditional title of Wali Opanda, described Senator Adamu, the Turakin Keffi and the first democratically elected Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, as a visionary leader who laid the foundation for the state’s socio-economic and educational development.
According to him, the policies and initiatives introduced during Adamu’s administration created a solid platform for the state’s continued progress, adding that history and posterity would always remember his contributions.
“He laid the solid foundation for the growth and development of Nasarawa State and its citizens. History will never forget his remarkable contributions to the development of the state,” Balarabe said.
He further commended the former APC National Chairman for empowering the people, promoting economic growth and advancing the welfare of citizens through impactful leadership.
“He has done great in empowering the people, he has done well for humanity, thus creating wealth and enhancing growth among citizens,” the statement added.
Balarabe also described the elder statesman as a political icon, mentor and bridge builder whose contributions to Nasarawa State, Nigeria and humanity remain enduring.
He noted that Senator Adamu played a significant role in advancing education in the young state by establishing a conducive environment for learning and introducing reforms that strengthened the education sector.
Reaffirming his support and admiration for the former governor, Balarabe said Senator Adamu remains a respected political leader and role model whose guidance continues to inspire many.
He prayed to God to continue to grant the former governor sound health, long life, wisdom and divine protection, while asking for continued guidance for him in providing positive leadership and direction for the benefit of the people.
