The Bassa APC Solidarity Movement (BASM) has officially endorsed Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as its preferred candidate for the Nasarawa State governorship, citing his leadership qualities, experience, and record of service as reasons for the decision.
In a statement signed by the group’s State Chairman, Hon. Ishaq Kaura, General Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Aguma, and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Isaac Sekpe Shelane, BASM said the endorsement followed what it described as extensive consultations with stakeholders across Bassa communities in the state.
According to the group, Senator Wadada has demonstrated visionary leadership, humility, transparency, and a commitment to prioritising the welfare of the people. BASM stated that his performance in the Senate, particularly in facilitating development projects, youth empowerment initiatives, scholarships, and support for women and small businesses, informed its decision to back his governorship ambition.
The movement also praised what it described as the senator’s inclusive approach to governance, saying his leadership style promotes fairness, accessibility, and grassroots development across the state’s diverse communities.
BASM expressed confidence that Senator Wadada’s leadership would strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State while advancing unity, equity, and socio-economic development.
The group further called on Bassa people across Doma, Toto, Karu, Kokona, Keffi, and Nasarawa Local Government Areas to unite in support of the senator’s governorship bid, urging members to mobilise behind what it described as a candidate capable of building “the next greater Nasarawa.”
