Hon. Ibrahim Hamza, Permanent Member 1 of the Nasarawa State Revenue Services Commission, has called on residents of Lafia and citizens of Nasarawa State to shun actions capable of causing division and undermining the unity of the people.
Hamza made the call while speaking with Nasarawa Eye in Lafia over the weekend, expressing concern over what he described as the manner in which partisan politics is being played in the state capital.
He urged the people of Lafia to make unity, peace and development their top priorities, stressing that political differences should not become a source of disunity among the people.
While commending Governor Abdullahi Sule for what he described as achievements recorded in Nasarawa State over the past seven years, particularly in infrastructure and investment, Hamza urged residents to support the government’s development efforts.
The traditional title holder, Karfen Dawakin Lafian Bare Bari, also spoke about his experience as a member of the opposition, saying his years outside the ruling party had exposed him to the challenges and limitations associated with being in opposition.
According to him, his experience in the opposition deprived him of several opportunities, and he therefore does not want Lafia to remain politically disadvantaged.
Hamza further described Wadada as the best candidate and urged the people of Lafia to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) from top to bottom in the 2027 elections, saying such support would be in the interest of the area’s progress and development.
He reiterated the need for the people to put the collective interest of Lafia and Nasarawa State above partisan considerations, maintaining that political participation should contribute to development rather than division.
