Arc. Shehu Ahmed Tukur, the Sarkin Padan Keffi, has expressed support for Senator Ahmed Wadada, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing Wadada’s emergence as the will of God and a development that should be embraced with sincerity, commitment and unity of purpose.
Tukur, who reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, declared his readiness to support all candidates of the party to ensure its success at the polls.
He made the declaration when the leadership of the Coalition of Youth Support Group for Wadada 2027, led by its Chairman, Comr. Jaafar Muhammad Loko, paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Guzape, Abuja.
During the visit, the Coalition appointed Tukur as its Zonal Patron for Nasarawa West and presented him with an official letter conveying the appointment.
Speaking during the engagement, Tukur urged members of the Coalition to remain focused, united and committed to placing the interests of Nasarawa State above personal considerations.
He encouraged the youths to remain conscious of the future of the state and the well-being of generations yet unborn, stressing the importance of unity and collective responsibility in advancing the development of Nasarawa.
Tukur also commended the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, for his efforts and contributions to the development of the state.
He called on the people of Nasarawa State to continue supporting and praying for the Governor, particularly during the current period of transition.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Coalition, Comr. Jaafar Muhammad Loko, said the courtesy visit was part of the group’s ongoing engagement with stakeholders across Nasarawa State.
He said the visit was aimed at introducing the Coalition’s objectives, vision, operational framework, programmes and activities to its newly appointed Zonal Patron.
Loko said the Coalition sought Tukur’s partnership and support in strengthening its grassroots mobilisation efforts and youth-oriented initiatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He added that the group was also seeking his collaboration in mobilising support for Senator Ahmed Wadada and other APC candidates across the state.
The Coalition further presented its programmes to Tukur, explaining that the initiatives were designed to strengthen grassroots participation, promote political awareness among young people, and support empowerment programmes across Nasarawa State.
The delegation also submitted a proposal for an educational initiative as part of the Coalition’s programmes.
Responding to the appointment, Tukur expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Coalition for finding him worthy of the responsibility.
He accepted the appointment and pledged to support the Coalition in achieving its objectives, particularly in the areas of youth mobilisation and development.
The delegation comprised state and local government officials of the Coalition drawn from various parts of Nasarawa State.
The engagement featured the presentation of the appointment letter, submission of the educational initiative proposal and a group photograph.
The Coalition described the engagement as fruitful, saying it had further strengthened its stakeholder outreach and mobilisation efforts across the state.
It expressed confidence in Tukur’s commitment to the development of Nasarawa State, youth empowerment and the success of the APC in the 2027 elections.
