The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has charged his support groups to redouble their grassroots mobilisation efforts and remain steadfast in their pursuit of his governorship ambition.
Wadada gave the charge on Sunday, in Keffi when he received a high-powered delegation of the Wadada Project led by Hon. Kwanta Yakubu and Alhaji Umar Danyaya Aliyu.
The senator urged members of the movement to intensify their engagement with the electorate across the state, but cautioned them against acrimony, inflammatory rhetoric and divisive politics.
He maintained that the campaign for his election must be anchored on peace, unity and issues that directly affect the people of Nasarawa State.
Wadada said the state was in need of purposeful leadership capable of delivering meaningful development, expressing confidence that he has the experience, capacity and vision to provide such leadership.
He said the time had come for him to contribute his best towards the advancement of Nasarawa State, urging supporters to remain committed to the political project.
The APC candidate also condemned the politics of religion and ethnicity, describing the use of primordial sentiments to secure political advantage as outdated.
According to him, the people of Nasarawa State should be united by a common vision of development rather than divided along religious or ethnic lines.
Earlier, the leader of the Wadada Project, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, said the delegation was in Keffi to brief the senator on major steps taken by the movement towards achieving its objectives.
Yakubu, who serves as Commissioner for Works and Housing in Nasarawa State, described Senator Wadada as a “loud and positive voice for change” in both Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
He said the members of the project believe strongly in Wadada’s political ideology, citing his patience, focus and strong belief in God as some of the qualities that distinguish him.
The delegation subsequently presented a comprehensive report on the activities and progress of the Wadada Project, including milestones achieved and plans for the next phase of its mobilisation campaign.
Discussions at the meeting centred on strengthening the movement’s grassroots structures, expanding consultations with community leaders and stakeholders, and implementing strategies aimed at securing wider support across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas.
The meeting also featured an evaluation of the organisational structure of the movement across the various geopolitical zones of the state, with emphasis on expanding community-level outreach and civic engagement.
The leadership of the Wadada Project reaffirmed its commitment to actualising Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s governorship ambition, expressing confidence in what it described as growing public support for his vision.
The group also commended its supporters, youth organisations, stakeholders and citizens across Nasarawa State for their continued commitment to the movement.
It said sustained unity, grassroots mobilisation and collective action would remain critical to its objective of producing a progressive and inclusive administration under Senator Wadada.
