What began as a farewell from the corridors of Nasarawa State Government has now opened a new chapter on the international stage for Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu, Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Argentina.
The diplomat and immediate past Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government returned to the Government House in Lafia on Friday on a thank-you visit to Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, following his appointment by the Federal Government to represent Nigeria in Argentina.
The visit was more than a formal engagement. It was an opportunity for the new ambassador to acknowledge the support of the governor Sule and formally mark the transition from his years of service within the Nasarawa State administration to a new role in Nigeria’s diplomatic service.
Received by Governor Sule, Amb. Ubandoma formally presented his appointment letter and other official documents, signalling the commencement of his new diplomatic assignment.
For the former Secretary to the State Government, the visit offered a moment to reflect on his journey in public service and to express appreciation to the governor for his support and confidence.
Governor Sule, in turn, congratulated Amb. Ubandoma on the appointment, expressing confidence that he would bring his experience, dedication and understanding of public service to bear in representing Nigeria in Argentina.
The appointment represents a significant progression in Ubandoma’s public service career. From serving at the highest administrative level of Nasarawa State, he now moves onto the international stage, where he is expected to advance Nigeria’s interests and strengthen relations between Nigeria and Argentina.
His diplomatic assignment also places him in a position to contribute to Nigeria’s engagement with Argentina across areas of mutual interest, while carrying with him the experience gained from years of service at the state level.
For Governor Sule and the Nasarawa State Government, the appointment is equally a moment of pride, as one of the state’s former senior government officials takes on a national assignment with international responsibilities.
As Amb. Ubandoma prepares to begin his new diplomatic chapter, his return to government was therefore both a gesture of gratitude and a symbolic bridge between his past responsibilities in Nasarawa and his new role representing Nigeria abroad.
