The North Central Grassroots Mobilization Movement has constituted a high-powered Reconciliation and Unity Panel to resolve internal disputes within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and unite stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee was established at a high-level strategic meeting of the North Central Grassroots Mobilization Movement held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in Abuja.
The meeting brought together governors, federal appointees, APC chieftains and grassroots mobilisers from across the North Central zone.
The reconciliation panel is mandated to engage aggrieved party members, resolve internal crises and bring stakeholders together under a common platform ahead of the elections.
The Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum and Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, who participated in the meeting, stressed the importance of unity and coordinated grassroots engagement in the region.
The stakeholders also approved a four-point action plan aimed at strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures across the North Central and mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
As part of the programme, the movement fixed October 10, 2026, for a mega solidarity rally in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital. The rally is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders in the zone to publicly demonstrate their support for President Tinubu.
The group also approved a 19-district grassroots advocacy and sensitisation tour across the North Central. The initiative will involve ward-to-ward and door-to-door engagements targeting market women, farmers, youths, traditional institutions and other community groups.
According to the organisers, the advocacy campaign will focus on the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, including its economic reforms, infrastructure programmes and human capital development initiatives.
In addition, the movement approved a free medical outreach programme aimed at providing healthcare services, drugs and medical screenings to vulnerable residents in rural communities across the region.
The organisers described the medical intervention as part of efforts to deepen engagement with communities and provide humanitarian assistance to people at the grassroots.
The North Central zone comprises Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor Sule described the zone as an important electoral bloc and called for sustained coordination among political leaders and grassroots stakeholders.
The meeting ended with a commitment by the participants to strengthen party unity, expand grassroots mobilisation and coordinate activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
