Alago Nation Declares Support for Wadada, Umbugadu Ahead of 2027

The Alago nation in Nasarawa State has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and his running mate, Emmanuel Michael Umbugadu, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The declaration was made at Pilot Central Primary School, Obi, where Alago political leaders, stakeholders, women, youths and supporters gathered to demonstrate solidarity with the APC candidates.
Speaking at the event, Nasarawa State Deputy Governor and Alago political leader, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, pledged the mobilisation of the Alago people for Wadada and Umbugadu. He said the community had assessed the political situation in the state and believed the APC candidates could succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule and sustain the state’s development.
Responding, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu thanked the Alago nation for its support and commended Akabe for his leadership. He promised an inclusive administration based on equal opportunity, regardless of ethnic, religious or geographical background.
Wadada also outlined his HEARTS development agenda, saying his administration would consolidate and upgrade the achievements of Governor Sule. He urged voters to assess candidates based on their records, programmes and capacity to deliver.
APC Chairman in Nasarawa State, Dr Aliyu Bello, called on party supporters and other political actors to ensure peaceful campaigns and elections. He urged voters to participate actively while avoiding violence and actions capable of disrupting the electoral process.Hon. The Chairman of Obi Local Government Council, Mohammed Sani K.K., assured the gathering that stakeholders across the local government would mobilise their wards in support of the APC candidates.
Other speakers, including Senator Salihu Egyebola, Dr Sarki Ibrahim and David Ayewa, commended Governor Sule’s administration, particularly its employment initiatives and other empowerment measures.
The event also featured cultural displays and a ₦10 million donation by Senator Wadada to the organising committee.
The gathering further showcased Wadada and Umbugadu together as the APC’s governorship team, reinforcing the party’s message of unity and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election.
