Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the North Central Solidarity Rally held at Lafia Square, Nasarawa State, citing infrastructure development and federal government interventions as key areas of impact under the Tinubu administration.
Speaking at the rally, Senator Wadada highlighted several projects and interventions he said had contributed to development in Nasarawa State, noting that federal government policies and support had created opportunities for infrastructure expansion and improved service delivery across the state.
Among the projects he enumerated was the upgrading of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa to the University of Mining and Engineering Technology, an initiative he presented as an important step towards strengthening specialised education and developing technical skills relevant to the mining and engineering sectors.
The senator also cited the construction of the Keffi–Nasarawa–Toto–Abaji Road as another significant infrastructure project, stressing the importance of road development in improving connectivity, facilitating the movement of people and goods, and supporting economic activities across communities.
Beyond the specific projects, Wadada drew attention to increased statutory allocations and other federal government interventions to the Nasarawa State Government. According to him, these resources had enhanced the state’s capacity to implement development projects under Governor Abdullahi Sule.
He maintained that the financial support available to the state government had enabled the governor to embark on numerous projects across Nasarawa State, linking federal fiscal transfers with ongoing efforts to address infrastructure and development needs at the state level.
The senator’s remarks placed the relationship between the federal and state governments at the centre of his argument, highlighting how federal allocations, infrastructure investments and institutional development could contribute to progress at the subnational level.
For Nasarawa State, projects involving road construction and the expansion of higher education institutions are particularly relevant to discussions about mobility, skills development and economic diversification. Improved road networks can help connect rural and urban communities, while specialised technical education can support the development of a skilled workforce.
Wadada’s appearance at Lafia Square formed part of the North Central Solidarity Rally, where he publicly aligned himself with President Tinubu and pointed to federal government projects and financial interventions as reasons for his support.
His remarks also underscored the role of cooperation between federal and state authorities in pursuing development objectives, particularly in areas such as transportation, education and public infrastructure.
As discussions about governance and development continue across the North Central region, the projects highlighted by the senator are part of the conversation about federal investment, state-level implementation and the delivery of public services.
The rally therefore provided a platform for Wadada to outline his reasons for supporting the Tinubu administration, with particular emphasis on infrastructure development and the financial resources available to Nasarawa State under the current federal government.
