Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for awarding the contract for the construction of Bassa Road in Kokona Local Government Area, describing the project as the fulfilment of a long-standing dream for his community.
Jatau, in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Lafia, expressed appreciation to the governor for approving the road project, which he said would address a major challenge facing residents of Bassa.
The Speaker noted that the road had been one of the longstanding concerns of his immediate community, adding that its construction would ease transportation, boost agricultural activities and enhance the socio-economic development of the area.
He described Governor Sule as a “God-sent” to the state, commending his leadership and the foundation he had laid through people-oriented projects across Nasarawa State.
“I want to commend our ‘Talk and Do’ Governor, Engr. A.A. Sule, for his good leadership in the state,” Jatau said.
“I have said it before now that Governor Sule is a God-sent to the state. He has laid a solid foundation; that is why everybody is copying from him.
“I want to thank the governor for approving the construction of Bassa Road. On behalf of the people of Bassa, we are grateful, sir,” he added.
Jatau also assured the governor of massive votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) from his community in the forthcoming election, expressing confidence in the support of his constituents.
“Your Excellency, let me assure you publicly that this time around, you will see the massive votes that will come from my people for APC. That, I assure you,” he said.
The Speaker, however, called on residents of the state to shun ethnic and religious politics, stressing the need for unity and collective commitment to development.
He urged the people to see themselves as one family, irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds, noting that peaceful coexistence remained essential for sustainable development.
Jatau further reaffirmed the commitment of the 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly, under his leadership, to provide the governor with the necessary support to achieve his development objectives.
He also assured the contractors handling the Bassa Road project of the support required to execute the construction work smoothly and without unnecessary hindrances.
