2027: My Personal Testimony on Baraden Nasarawa

By Rayyanu Bala

In politics, loyalty is not measured by words alone; it is demonstrated through sacrifice, commitment, consistency, and the willingness to stand by a cause even when personal ambition must take a back seat. This is why the role Baraden Nasarawa is playing in Senator Wadada’s journey towards the 2027 governorship election deserves special recognition.

Last week, the Nasarawa State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello alongside his friends under the banner of the Friends Forever Group, paid a courtesy visit to the Baraden Nasarawa and the State Accountant-General, Dr. Mohammed Musa, at his residence in Lafia. The purpose of the visit was to familiarise the group with the Accountant-General and discuss the efforts being made to promote the governorship ambition of Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu ahead of the 2027 election.

During the visit, Dr. Aliyu Bello took a moment to reflect on the remarkable contributions of Baraden Nasarawa towards building support for Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, not just in his local government area but across Nasarawa State.

What stood out in his account was the demonstration of political maturity, loyalty, and a genuine commitment to the collective interest of the party.

Baraden Nasarawa was himself among those who aspired to succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule. Like every other politician with ambition, he had his own dreams and political calculations. However, when Governor Sule made his preference for Senator Ahmed Wadada known, Baraden Nasarawa was among those who put aside their personal aspirations and rallied behind the governor’s preferred candidate. That is the kind of political maturity that deserves commendation.

Indeed, it is one thing to support a candidate when you have nothing personal at stake. It is another thing entirely to put your own ambition aside and work for the success of someone else. The latter requires discipline, humility, and a deep understanding of the bigger picture.

Since then, Baraden Nasarawa has continued to demonstrate his commitment to the Wadada project. From mobilising supporters to engaging political stakeholders and using his influence to build acceptance for the candidate, his efforts reflect the importance of having committed individuals on the frontline of any political campaign.

Baraden Nasarawa is one of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s appointees whose political commitment to the success of Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu in the 2027 governorship election deserves recognition. His involvement sends a clear message that the journey towards 2027 is not merely about endorsements and political declarations; it is about building a formidable network of people who are prepared to work towards a common goal.

Politics is a game of numbers, relationships, grassroots mobilisation, and strategic alliances. A politician may enjoy widespread popularity, but that popularity must be translated into organised support at the grassroots. This is why individuals with political experience, established relationships, and a strong sense of commitment are so important. Baraden Nasarawa represents that kind of political asset.

His willingness to support Senator Wadada despite having had his own governorship ambition speaks volumes about his understanding of loyalty. Rather than allowing personal disappointment to become an obstacle, he has chosen to channel his political energy towards a project his principal believes in.

As the 2027 election approaches, the APC and Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu needs the likes of Baraden Nasarawa who can demonstrate his level of commitment. They need people who can take the message to the communities, engage stakeholders, bring supporters together, and sustain the momentum.

With people like Baraden Nasarawa on the frontline, the Wadada project has a strong foundation to build upon, and the prospects for victory become increasingly promising.

Of course, no election is won by one individual, one endorsement, or one political group. Victory requires collective effort, effective organisation, a compelling vision, and the confidence of the leaders. But when experienced political actors combine their influence and commitment around a common objective, they can make a significant difference.

That is why the efforts of the Friends Forever Group and the individuals working behind the scenes deserve attention. Their engagement with key stakeholders reflects the importance of building bridges and strengthening relationships ahead of the election.

For me, the most important lesson from this development is simple: true political loyalty is revealed when personal ambition gives way to collective purpose. Baraden Nasarawa has demonstrated the importance of that principle. His continued support for Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu could prove valuable as the campaign gathers momentum.

With the likes of Baraden Nasarawa leading from the front, the road to victory looks promising. The task now is to sustain the commitment, expand the support base, and turn political goodwill into electoral success.

For Nasarawa State, 2027 will be about leadership, strategy, unity, and the choices of the people. And for those working towards Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu’s ambition, the message is clear: keep the momentum alive.

The journey continues, and every committed hand counts in many ways.
