The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has donated N6 million and distributed 1,100 wrappers to constituents to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Jatau, who represents Kokona West Constituency, announced the donations during a marathon APC stakeholders’ meeting he organised in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The meeting brought together elected and appointed political officeholders at the national, state and local government levels, as well as APC ward officials and other party stakeholders in the area.

The Speaker said the meeting was organised to foster unity among party members, address internal disagreements and strategise towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.

He urged stakeholders to remain committed to the party and warned against anti-party activities, stressing that collective efforts were necessary to ensure the success of APC candidates at all levels.

“Let’s come together to work as a family. APC is our party, and we will win in 2027 by God’s grace,” he said.

Jatau described Kokona Local Government Area as a stronghold of the APC and called on party members to intensify mobilisation across their respective wards and polling units.

He, however, expressed concern over alleged acts of betrayal among some party members following the APC primaries, urging those who supported him during the process to remain loyal to the party and its candidates.

The Speaker specifically appealed to his supporters to back Hon. Daniel Oga Ogazi, the APC candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, alongside President Tinubu, Senator Wadada and other APC candidates.

“If you are for APC, work for APC. If you worked for me and I did not win the APC ticket for House of Representatives, you have no reason not to support my brother, Hon. Daniel Oga Ogazi, to succeed as our House of Representatives member in 2027 and other APC candidates,” he said.

Announcing the donations, Jatau said the 1,100 wrappers would be distributed equally among the 11 wards in Kokona LGA, with each ward receiving 100 wrappers. He also announced a cash donation of N6 million to his constituents.

He called on party leaders and members to embrace forgiveness as a pathway to reconciliation, unity and progress, noting that internal harmony would strengthen the party ahead of the elections.

“Let’s have the spirit of forgiveness for the unity, peace, progress and development of the party,” he added.

Jatau also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for approving the construction of Bassa Road, saying the project would enhance agricultural activities and improve the socioeconomic well-being of residents in the area.

He further praised the governor for his administration’s development efforts across the state and urged residents to reject ethnic and religious politics in favour of peaceful coexistence, regardless of their political, ethnic or religious affiliations.

Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. John Mamman; Kokona Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mek Agbawu Mek; and APC Chairman in the LGA, Jacob Terry Bado, alongside other political leaders and stakeholders, pledged to mobilise support for APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

They also called on residents to promote unity, shun ethnic and religious divisions, and support the party at all levels. The stakeholders commended Governor Sule for road construction and other development projects in the area.

Speaking on behalf of APC candidates in the area, Ogazi expressed appreciation to Jatau for his support and commitment to the party’s success.

He assured constituents that APC candidates would provide quality representation if elected in 2027 and appealed to residents and party supporters to rally behind them.

Earlier, the APC chairman in Kokona LGA, Jacob Terry Bado, said the meeting was convened at the instance of the Speaker. He called for reconciliation among party stakeholders and urged members to work together to secure victory in the forthcoming general elections.

Those in attendance included Jatau; Ogazi; former member representing Kokona East Constituency, Hon. Dogara Sa’aka; former member representing Kokona West Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Obere Kana; the Commissioner for Education, John Mamman; Kokona LGA Chairman, Mek Agbawu Mek; and APC ward chairmen, among other party leaders and stakeholders.
