Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has formally acknowledged his endorsement by Governor Abdullahi Sule as the preferred aspirant for the 2027 gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, describing the development as both humbling and a call to greater service.
In a statement which he personally signed on Thursday, the lawmaker representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District expressed “deep humility” and a “profound sense of responsibility” over the endorsement, thanking the governor for his confidence and leadership.
Wadada said the endorsement signals a renewed commitment to the peace, unity, and development of the state, while praising Sule’s “foresight and unwavering dedication” to governance.
“This is a call to higher service,” he said, noting that the moment demands collective effort among party stakeholders. He extended an appeal to leaders and members of the APC across the state to work together, emphasizing the need for unity and shared sacrifice ahead of the 2027 elections.
The senator also reached out to other aspirants within the party, describing them as partners in a common vision for Nasarawa’s progress. He stressed the importance of maintaining mutual respect and avoiding divisions, noting that political competition should not undermine party cohesion.
Addressing his supporters, Aliyu urged restraint and maturity, cautioning against attacks or inflammatory remarks directed at rival aspirants or their followers. He emphasized that politics should serve as a unifying force rather than a source of conflict.
“Let us build bridges, not burn them,” he said, adding that discipline, respect, and adherence to party values must guide all actions moving forward.
Wadada concluded by reaffirming his commitment to delivering greater democratic dividends to the people of Nasarawa State, while praying for continued progress for both the state and Nigeria.
