The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released its timetable and schedule of activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for primaries, screening, and nomination processes.
In a statement issued from its National Secretariat, known as Buhari House in Abuja, the party said the schedule aligns with provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the timetable, the notice of election to state chapters takes effect from Monday, April 20, 2026. The sale of nomination forms is scheduled to run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
The party fixed May 4, 2026, as the deadline for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents. Screening of aspirants for various positions—including State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential tickets—will take place between May 6 and May 9.
Publication of screening results is slated for May 11, while appeals arising from the screening exercise will be handled between May 12 and May 13.
Primary elections for all categories of offices will follow shortly after, with the presidential primary scheduled within the same mid-May window. Appeals from the primaries will run from May 15 through May 25, 2026.
The APC also released its fee structure for aspirants. Expression of interest and nomination forms for State House of Assembly seats cost N1 million and N5 million respectively, while House of Representatives aspirants are to pay N1 million and N9 million. Senate hopefuls will pay N3 million for expression of interest and N17 million for nomination.
Governorship aspirants are expected to pay N10 million and N40 million respectively, while presidential aspirants face the highest fees at N30 million for expression of interest and N70 million for nomination.
The party, however, announced concessions for female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities, stating that they are required to pay only for the expression of interest forms and 50 percent of the nomination fees.
The timetable was signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, who urged interested aspirants to contact the party’s Directorate of Organisation for further details.
The release of the schedule signals the formal commencement of internal party processes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
