The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Nasarawa State has endorsed Governor Abdullahi Sule’s choice of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
The endorsement was announced during a press conference held in Lafia, where the state chairman of ALGON, Alhaji Safiyanu, ISA Andaha described the decision as a strategic move aimed at ensuring continuity and sustained development in Nasarawa State.
According to Safiyanu, the association carefully considered the state’s political landscape and developmental priorities before arriving at its position. He expressed confidence in Wadada’s leadership qualities, noting that his experience and political capacity make him well-positioned to lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) to victory in the forthcoming election.
He further stated that Wadada’s candidacy would help sustain and build upon the achievements recorded under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, stressing that continuity in governance remains essential for consolidating development and completing ongoing projects across the state.
Safiyanu also called on party members and stakeholders across Nasarawa State to unite behind Wadada, emphasizing the importance of cohesion within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
The endorsement is expected to influence early political alignments as preparations gradually intensify toward the next governorship contest in the state.
