The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has extended warm greetings to workers in the state on the occasion of this year’s May Day celebration, assuring them of continued legislative backing and stronger partnership aimed at improving their welfare.
In a statement issued through his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, the Speaker described workers as the “engine room” of government, noting that their contributions remain central to administration and governance in Nasarawa State.
Jatau congratulated workers across the state, praising them as hardworking, patriotic, and understanding citizens who continue to play vital roles in the development of the state. He reaffirmed that the 7th Assembly under his leadership would remain committed to enacting friendly legislation and supporting policies that enhance the welfare of civil servants.
He also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for what he described as consistent efforts in prioritising workers’ welfare, including prompt payment of salaries, pensions, gratuities, as well as the training and recruitment of additional personnel into the state civil service.
According to the Speaker, the collaboration between the legislature and the executive has helped strengthen governance and improve service delivery in the state.
He urged workers to sustain teamwork, dedication, and productivity in the interest of state development, adding that the Assembly would continue to work towards policies that promote their well-being.
Jatau further called for a sustained and harmonious relationship between labour unions and the government to ensure smooth administration and continued progress in Nasarawa State.
