Wadada Hails Gov. Sule, Celebrates Workers on May Day

Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for implementing policies aimed at improving workers’ welfare in Nasarawa State, noting that such efforts have strengthened labour relations and fostered a more conducive working environment.
In a statement issued in Lafia to mark the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration, the senator praised the resilience and dedication of workers across the state, describing them as the backbone of governance and economic progress. He said their contributions continue to sustain public institutions and drive development.
Wadada acknowledged that the governor’s initiatives have contributed to stability within the workforce, emphasizing that prioritizing workers’ welfare remains essential for sustained growth. “Workers remain central to the growth and stability of Nasarawa State. Their contributions cannot be overstated,” he stated.
Looking ahead, the senator outlined his broader HEARTS Agenda, which places strong emphasis on capacity building and enhanced welfare for workers. He stressed that sustainable development depends on a skilled, motivated, and adequately supported workforce.
According to him, his vision includes continuous professional development to equip workers with modern skills, alongside improved welfare systems that ensure fair remuneration, better working conditions, and policies that reward productivity while safeguarding workers’ rights.
He further noted that governance must go beyond maintaining existing structures to implementing meaningful reforms that empower workers and improve service delivery across sectors.
“As we celebrate Workers’ Day, we must renew our commitment to building a system where workers are valued, their efforts recognized, and their future secured,” Wadada said.
The senator concluded by assuring workers in Nasarawa State that their welfare would remain a top priority, while calling for collective efforts to build a more inclusive and prosperous society.
