Senator Wadada Denies Involvement in Alleged AI-Generated Video

A growing trend is emerging in Nasarawa State where AI-generated content is being used to create divisions among the people of the state. One such example is the AI-generated video circulating on social media, falsely attributed to Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, in which offensive remarks were allegedly made against the people of the state.

A statement issued by Senator Wadada media office in Lafia, described the video as “malicious,” “manipulated,” and deliberately created using artificial intelligence technology to damage the reputation of Senator Wadada and his governorship ambition.
The statement claimed that the fabricated video falsely portrayed Senator Wadada as describing the people of Nasarawa State in derogatory terms, including allegations that he referred to them as “animals” and accused them of lacking dignity, respect, loyalty, and reasoning.
However, the statement strongly denied the authenticity of the video, insisting that the comments were entirely false and did not originate from Senator Wadada.
“Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu is a respected leader, a grassroots politician, and a proud son of Nasarawa State who has consistently demonstrated love, respect, and commitment to the welfare and progress of his people,” the statement said.
The statement accused unnamed political opponents of orchestrating the misinformation campaign in response to his growing popularity ahead of the governorship election in the state.
According to the statement, recent political developments, including what it described as the endorsement of Senator Wadada by Governor Abdullahi Sule as a worthy successor, as well as increasing support from traditional rulers, youth groups, women organizations, and stakeholders across the three senatorial districts, have unsettled opposition figures.
The statement further urged residents to remain vigilant against fake news and AI-generated content aimed at misleading the public and creating political tension as the election approaches.
It also urged citizens to disregard the circulating video, emphasizing that Senator Wadada remains committed to engaging with the people of Nasarawa State “with sincerity, humility, and respect.”
The statement however noted that the video highlights growing concerns over the use of artificial intelligence and digital manipulation in political campaigns and misinformation ahead of elections in Nasarawa state.
